Podcast: Untitled Notre Dame USC Football Podcast – Episode 9.3 Week 0 Recap San Jose State & Navy
Football is officially back for the USC Trojans and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Both teams had relatively easy Week 0 games. The Trojans beat a San Jose State team that scored a few too many points, while the Fighting Irish sunk Navy. We start with USC, and Greg repeating his questions from last week, asking if anything from the San Jose State game could sour Michael on the Trojans. Spoiler alert, the answer is still no. The Alex Grinch apologist tour that started last season just keeps on rolling this week, and we also talk about USC skill players, highlighting the play of Zachariah Branch and wondering about Raleek Brown’s future. We then turn our attention to Notre Dame, who did whatever they wanted to against Navy in Sam Hartman’s Irish debut. The Navy team may have been overmatched, but there were still some questionable decisions made by the coaches. In such a lopsided game it is hard to predict what happens next week. Speaking of next week, both the Trojans and Fighting Irish have games against another pair of weak teams. USC plays Nevada at home, and Notre Dame plays Tennessee State, the first FCS opponent in Fighting Irish history.
