It was a sad week for the USC Trojans and a mostly quiet week for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. We start with USC’s Pac-12 Championship game loss against the Utah Utes. There are so many things to talk about after the Trojans’ second loss to Utah this year, like what does this loss mean for Lincoln Riley’s coaching resume, Riley’s game management, should USC quarterback Caleb Williams continued to play with his injury and of course the defense. All of this leads into some end of season talk and some light Cotton Bowl chatter. The majority of the Notre Dame talk this week is around the transfer portal. The big news is Fighting Irish quarterback Drew Pyne has entered the transfer portal. We talk about his career, what this means for the bowl game and what happens next year at quarterback with the Irish.
