Week 1 of the 2022 college football season is in the books for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the USC Trojans, and we have split results. We start with the Fighting Irish who lost a close game to the Ohio State Buckeyes. We discuss what was a boring game that had few highlights for Notre Dame. We try to find some bright spots, while questioning the effectiveness of Notre Dame offensive coordinator Tommy Rees. Unfortunately for the Fighting Irish there were not many takeaways to apply to the upcoming game against Marshall. The focus then shifts to the USC Trojans and Lincoln Riley’s first game as USC’s head coach. The Trojans dominated Rice in every facet of the game. It was the type of win the USC fans have not seen in years. Things are looking bright for the Trojans this coming week against Stanford.
