Week 1 of the 2018 college football season is in the books, and both the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the USC Trojans came away victorious. Notre Dame was able to topple the favored Michigan Wolverines while the Trojans bested the UNLV Running Rebels. For the Fighting Irish, quarterback Brandon Wimbush looked sharp early contributing with his arm and legs. While the Notre Dame defense kept the Wolverines in check all night. This coming week the Irish are heavy favorites against Ball State. As for the Trojans (26:27), true freshman quarterback JT Daniels was as advertised, throwing for a touchdown pass in a win over the Rebels. The game was to close for comfort all afternoon, but USC eventual pulled ahead and never looked back. The Trojans face a tough Stanford this weekend.
